Your Cyclical Life - a 3 month mentorship
I welcome you to be supported to connect deeply with your body, your being, and yourself, through the vehicle of your menstrual cycle in a safe, intimate & held space.
Our menstrual cycle has not always been honoured in Western society as it could be. Do you remember your first period? What messages did you receive from those around you? Was this a celebration or something brushed under the carpet? What was your relationship with your period - were you loud and proud or hiding pads and tampons behind your back as you slipped into the bathroom? How is your relationship with it now?
Does it feel like an ally in life or a burden? We've been taught that it is this inconvenient thing that happens and when we tell someone we've got our period, we usually get sympathy.
What if your 'period' was seen as a powerful dreaming time or an inbuilt time during the month to rest and rejuvenate?
What if instead of being oblivious to the rest of our cycles, we were aware of the ebbs and flows of energy and used this to enhance our lives instead of feeling like we've taken a ride each month (or length of your cycle)
What if you could be held and supported as you got to know your body and cycle so that you could harness the energy from it, instead of feeling drained and perhaps dreading it.
Over 3 months, we will journey together to discover the experience you've had with your cycle from childhood to present, we will look at your current experience of your cycle and what is and isn't working, we will track your cycle via multiple tracking charts, and we will use this information to chart your patterns and plan your life according to them. We will also be able to see where change might be needed and make a plan for this.

💕 A weekly check-in graph spanning different areas of your life to chart the changes from phase to phase.
💕 A chart to document all the data you gather so that you can begin to see patterns in your cycles.

Details about the mentorship
🧐 We'll journey over 3 months delving into your cyclical nature. Below is an overview of what we’ll be exploring each session. This is only a guide, sessions will be catered to meet your needs.
💛 Session 1
During this session, I will get to know you & gather information about your current and past experiences of your cycle.
We will explore the 4 phases of the menstrual and/or lunar cycle. We will continue this exploration throughout the sessions, as you are experiencing each of phases.
You will be introduced to a meditation you can use from here to check in to simply notice how you’re arriving and what is present. This means that as we journey together, whether you are currently menstruating or not, you will have the chance to notice what shifts, changes, moods, body symptoms and mental spaces you experience. We will begin the following sessions with this.
I will introduce you to the tracking tools that you can use and we will plan for & personalise the ones that you'd like to use.
🧡 Session 2
We will begin with the check-in meditation. You will then have a chance to share what you've noticed in your cycle since we last met.
Next, we will explore the journey you've had with your menstrual cycle from childhood to now. We will look at the messages you took on, what you saw, your experience of your first period, and how your experience has been since then.
At the end, there will be an invitation to begin to create a ritual around re-imagining your first period the way you would have liked. We will carry this out in session 3, and it is optional.
💚 Session 3
After our check-in this session, we will begin a very special part of our journey - there will be space for you to carry out their ritual with witness and support from the group. Support will be given to design and carry out your ritual.
💙 Session 4
After our check-in, we will look together at your tracking information and address any problems that have arisen, as well as begin to notice the patterns of your cycle and note these for future sessions.
💜 Session 5
After our check-in, we will gather the tracking templates again, this time with the aim of charting patterns, exploring your needs throughout the cycle and beginning to make a plan to meet those needs and harness the different energies throughout your cycle.
🤍 Session 6
In our final session together, we will explore your intention moving forward, solidify the plan from the session prior and explore what might stop you from being able to live your intentions and plan.
The mentorship is over 3 months with fortnightly telehealth appointments, apart from the last 2 sessions, which have a 3-week break. If you wish to have sessions more frequently, we reduce the duration and meet weekly or a mixture. This mentorship is designed to meet you where you're at.
This is open to women and people over 18 who are:
🌱Currently experiencing a menstrual cycle (however regular or irregular) or,
🌱Using contraception and wanting to transition off it in the future.
This might not be a good fit for you if:
💫 You want a quick fix: This is a journey within which you will develop a deep and lasting relationship with your body and your cycle, and this takes time.
💫 You're looking for an expert to tell you what's best for your body: I am here in a co-collaboration with you. I will share information with you, but in the end, our aim is to tune deeply into your body & cycle and let that be the guide as to what will best support you.
💫 You don't have the capacity right now to dedicate time and energy to connecting with your body & cycle: We will always be working to develop practices that work in & support your life right now, including the time you have, however, this journey does require energetic and time investment.
Emily's experience
I worked with Kim in both a group program and individually. Both of these for me felt like a really soul-nourishing deep dive into exploring women's cycles, our cycles. One of the activities I did was to share as a group our experience of our first ever bleed and for me that was quite a powerful moment to share. I felt as if everyone in the group understood me and my experience.
There were benefits for sharing what happened for me when I was younger and had my first bleed. I felt really validated listening to others' stories around the same topic and it was just a powerful moment for me and really helped me to move past some of the trauma I experienced back then. There was quite a lot of healing through there.
It's also good to learn about the particular phases in our cycles in the four weeks and how each phase has a host of symptoms that may or may not occur and for me as a person living with a chronic illness I found it really useful for me to realise that some of the symptoms I was experiencing through my cycle and it wasn't actually to do with my chronic illness, some of them were to do with just a common symptom that can occur in any one of those four or so weeks of our cycles. That was really reassuring to me because at times I felt quite alone in what I was experiencing and again hearing the stories of others in the group really reassured me that what I'm feeling is quite normal or at times maybe not a normal experience as such but everyone can experience the same thing in a different way and it felt like that was okay and there was no judgment throughout the group.
I continued my exploration by working individually with Kim after the group sessions. This was an opportunity for me to deepen into my current experience of my cycle. I discovered by listening to my body and allowing myself to rest at certain times, I had so much more energy and calm through the rest of my cycle. It was overall a rewarding, worthwhile and very nourishing and healing experience.

🎨 We have the opportunity to engage in Art Therapy processes as part of your exploration. If you would like to do this, guidance will be given as to art supplies needed. These will be minimal everyday products that you may already have in your home or garden.
My story
I, like a lot of women & girls, had no idea that anything was happening in my body aside from the dreaded period. From a young age, I experienced severe pain each period and eventually was put on the pill to manage it. Fast forward many years and I wasn't taking the pill anymore, and had the Mirena inserted to manage pain. By the time I took the Mirena out 4 years later, I was 31 and still had no idea about my cycle.
Through friends I began to learn what was happening in my body. I read books and decided to take the mirena out and experience my own natural cycle.
I learnt about the phases of the cycle, why pain occurs, what imbalance looks like and how to live in alignment with it.
Now several years later, my cycle is truly a great ally and friend. She shows me when to dream, when to put new ideas into action, when to focus and complete things, when to socialise and connect and so much more. All without getting drained. I have had symptoms reduce simply from tuning in, and I also know when I need further support from a healthcare practitioner. The difference is, when I seek this support, I know what I need, instead of needing to start the journey of discovering the root cause from the beginning with them.
I have learnt deeply from my own experience, as well as many wise women in this space, and have been fortunate to have been mentored by naturopath Amanda Trieger for the last year. During this time I have deepened my learning about the menstrual & lunar cycles as well as cyclical living, including running my business in a way that aligns with my cycle and energy.
I combine this knowledge & experience with my skills and experience as a therapist to craft an offer that enables you to connect deeply, learn from me as well as your own body and emerge living a more connected life in alignment with your body and cycle.
FAQs
If you're not currently experiencing a menstrual cycle, we will work with the lunar cycle. Even though this isn't your body's natural cycle, it can be supportive to learn to live cyclically via the lunar rhythms which mirror that of the menstrual cycle. If or when your menstrual cycle returns, you will already be greatly supporting your body and will have the knowledge and skills to now move your focus to tracking and living in alignment with your menstrual cycle.
You will also be able to notice the effects the lunar cycle has on your energy.
Yes. You are able to pay for a session at a time, by booking & paying as we move through the sessions. Reach out if you would like to do this.
Sessions are from the comfort of your home (or any space you choose) via a secure telehealth platform. You can use either a phone or computer to join. Face to Face options can be discussed if you are in the Newcastle/Lake Macquarie area.
